台北越界創團舞者及主要舞者，國內資深舞蹈家，以婉約細緻的舞台風格著稱。美國德州基督大學舞蹈碩士，現任國立台北藝術大學舞蹈系專任副教授。

雲門舞集創始團員、主要舞者、編舞者及排練指導，並曾參與雲門國內外約五百場演出。在雲門的重要舞碼包括自編自演的《待嫁娘》，《白蛇傳》中的青白蛇，以及《風景》、《流雲》、《涅槃》等主要角色。曾獲獎助金遊學紐約、參加美國舞蹈節及紐約尼可萊斯舞校夏令營。1990年獲中興文藝獎，1991年雲門復出後，四度受邀任客席舞者以及《涅槃》、《流雲》重現的排練指導。曾任教內華達大學舞蹈系、及科羅拉多大學舞蹈系客席助理教授。

越界舞碼包括：《花月正春風…一個不能排練的即興曲》《蛇的練習三則》《捉畫》《愛玲說》《客途秋恨》《騷動的靈魂》《天堂鳥》《蝕》《白》《天國出走》《心之安放》《傳說》《失樂園》等，並隨團赴歐、美、亞洲各地巡演。

Shu-gi Chen holds an MFA in Ballet from Texas Christian University. She is an associate professor and the Chair of Dance Department, Taipei National University of the Arts. Co-founded the company in 1994, Shu-gi has appeared in most Taipei Crossover repertoire. Her performance style is rich in tenderness and subtlety. She was praised the ‘forever maiden’ for her appearance in the Retrospective Project of Tsai Ray-yui in 2000. A founding member and principal dancer with Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan for 15 years, Chen toured extensively with Cloud Gate for more than 500 performances. She was appointed rehearsal director for several of Cloud Gate’s major works when the company restructured in 1991.
